The Best Places to Elope in the Fall—2025
(If You’re Into Wild Views + Zero Bullsh*t)
Fall is hands-down our favorite time of year for elopements.
The crowds thin out, the light turns golden, the weather chills out (in the good way), and the landscapes basically throw on their best outfits and beg to be part of your day.
If you’re planning to ditch the big wedding and trade it for something real, raw, and ridiculously scenic—these are the top 3 places to elope in fall 2025, broken down by the month they hit peak magic.
September – Telluride, Colorado
Golden Aspens & Mountain Air That Hits Different
Telluride in September is unreal. We’re talkin’ golden aspen forests, high alpine lakes, and mountain peaks that’ll make you forget how to speak in full sentences (even if you’ve only had one beer")! You get that crisp morning air, trails lined in gold, and no tourists elbowing their way into your first look. This place feels like a secret—one that just so happens to be one of the most photogenic spots in the West.
Why you should elope in Telluride:
Fall colors are AMAZEBALLS
Quiet trails & cozy alpine camp vibes
We can take our truck to the top of a sic mountain pass, say your vows, make incredible pics and be back in time for whiskey and a campfire. No sweating or huffing and puffing required- Just strap that seat belt on tight! Those mountain roads are BUMPY!
Best for: Couples who want big mountain energy, small town vibes, and want to soak in some hotsprings, try a via ferrata or go climbing!
October – Moab, Utah
Sandstone Cliffs, Golden Light, & the Colorado River
Moab in October is straight-up maaaaagic. The heat’s finally calmed down, the Jeep trails are open, and the whole desert feels like it’s yours. Whether you’re rafting down the river to a remote beach, off-roading out to a dope overlook, or swapping vows after a day of canyoneering, Moab serves desert drama in all the best ways—without the chaos of peak season.
Why you should elope in Moab:
•The weather is dialed—warm days, cool nights, and dry AF
•You’ll catch cottonwoods turning yellow in the canyons (yep, fall color in the desert!)
•Jeep, hike, climb, raft, chill—it’s choose-your-own-adventure energy
Best for: Dirtbag romantics, desert lovers, and anyone who thinks sandstone makes a better cathedral than stained glass.
October – Sedona, Arizona
Red Rocks, Mystic Energy, and a Side of Fall Foliage
Late fall in Sedona is like the grand finale of elopement season. The light is golden, the trails are quiet, and the whole town feels like it’s exhaling. With those towering red rock formations, hidden creek trails, and vortexy vibes, Sedona is basically built for elopements—and November is our favorite month to be there hosting them!
Why you should elope in Sedona:
70-degree days, cozy sweater nights
Glowing red rocks and golden cottonwoods
Quiet, empty Canyons and desert towers that are STUNNING and great for couples to try out climbing outdoors or canyoneering for their first time
Best for: Couples who want a slower pace, relaxing atmosphere, and some seriously mind-blowing backdrops.
Wanna Make it Happen?
At Vows With Views, we plan and photograph wild, intentional elopements in places like Telluride, Moab, and Sedona—complete with officiating, cozy camp stays, epic adventures, and campfire dinners you’ll still be talking about when you’re 80.
You bring the vows. We’ll bring the logistics, airstream, ropes, carabiners, snacks, and sick views.
Meet Your Elopement Photographer & Your Officiant
We’re not your average wedding crew—and that’s kind of the point. When you elope with Vows With Views, you’re rolling with a tiny but mighty team that knows how to belay before sunrise, pack snacks for the summit, and keep your ceremony feeling raw, real, and totally you.
Claudia – Your Officiant, Rope Wrangler & Campfire Chef
Claudia’s your officiant, but calling her that barely scratches the surface. She’s the one guiding you through your vows and down your first canyon together. She’s part ceremony guru, part raft guide & part rope-slinger—ready to lead you up your first desert tower, down a sandstone slot canyon, or floating the Colorado with beers stashed in the drybag.
And after all that? She’s also the one making sure there’s Winner Dog crisping over the campfire, and maybe even a camp stove mac ’n cheese situation if you’re lucky. Whether she’s writing a ceremony that makes you cry-laugh or belaying you into your first married pitch, Claudia’s there making it feel like the best kind of adventure: the kind you never forget.
She doesn’t just marry you—she launches you into married life with grit, heart, and a side of mustard.
Mallory – Your Elopement Photographer, Camp Host & Chaos Coordinator
Mallory’s the eyes behind the lens and the soul behind the whole dang experience. She’s not just out there snapping pretty photos—she’s craftin up timelines, scouting secret ceremony spots, and making sure your campsite is set up somewhere super sic. When you roll up, she’s already there with the firewood stacked, the cooler stocked, and coffee is in the pot.
She’s a full-time elopement photographer, part-time trail scout, and forever fan of couples who’d rather write vows on a topo map than their phone.
She’ll get you stoked, take you guys to the sickest spots in the perfect light and make sure your photos feel like you, not a Pinterest board.
“Our advice ... if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of a traditional wedding, then hand it over to Mal and Claudia ... and relax. Think camp fires, nature, the cutest little airstream ever, adventure, and the best memories imaginable!!!”
