While most people who visit Hawaii for the first time will go home and dream about what it would be like to live there, some of us will go home, sell everything, strap our skateboard to our chest, and head right back to the airport…

That’s me 10 years ago -leaving San Diego with my one way back to Kauai…

I’m an Adventurer & Storyteller

My journey began as an adventure landscape photographer…

I moved out to the island of Kauai in 2014 to teach adventure photography workshops with National Geographic photographer, Patrick Kelly. For years, we took visitors out to all the ridiculously awesome spots around the island and showed them how to take super cool pics.

Living in such a cool place, I was also doing photo assignment work for a bunch of my favorite travel and outdoor publications. Maybe you’ve seen some of my published works in your favorite outdoorsy travel magazines like Backpacker or Outside!?

Welp, couples who were going to Kauai to elope kept finding my adventure photography website when they were searching for adventure wedding photographers to shoot their weddings. They loved the way I captured the landscapes and raw experiences in my adventures and wondered if I would also shoot their elopement.

And BOOM, it was pretty much like that! Photographing Adventure Elopes was the perfect balance of all the elements I loved most about photography-storytelling, landscapes, & adventure. That’s how Vows with Views started 😛

10 years later, in 2020 when Hawaii closed to travel…

I couldn’t really shoot elopements in my home sweet, so I decided to come over to the mainland to start shooting in cool places out west. There was no concrete game plan, I had no place to stay and I didn’t really know anybody over there but there was a one-way ticket into Portland for $99 bucks and a Dodge Durango I could sleep in the back of for $500 that I could rent for 60 days….

So that’s what I did…. Marking the start of our expansion to life shooting on the road! And as life on the road settled in, I became more and more stoked on experiential travel and helping our couples have an authentic, immersive elopement trip.

So last year I went all in! I built a fun team who shared these passions, bought an airstream and started pioneering what it looks like to plan and document customized multi-day adventure elopement trips from the road!
